The Hungry Void series documents the collaboration of two American experimental groups. Voice of Eye of Taos, New Mexico and Life Garden of Phoenix Arizona combine old world instruments with instruments of their own design, modified with various digital effects processing. This series is taken from 12 hours of group improvisation and live recordings mixed into two continuous compositions: volume I: Fire, and volume II: Air.

2021 note: This collaboration actually began in 1992 when we briefly met David and Su Ling of Life Garden while on tour through Phoenix and exchanged music. Needless to say we were blown away by the sonic majesty of Life Garden. When it came time for our 1994 tour we shared the stage with Life Garden and recorded our set. We stayed in Phoenix for a few days afterwards recording and then returned in the fall for more recording. Much gratitude to David Oliphant for compiling these releases from the original recordings.
